Property Description

Our Ventnor Victorian, The Salty V, sleeps 15 (12 Adults) comfortably with 5 BR, including 3 Ensuites! Just blocks to the beautiful beach, 2 Blocks to the Bay, and a mile from the excitement of Atlantic City. We provide EVERYTHING you need! Quality lines, beach chairs, tags, towels, toys, and a fully appointed kitchen including condiments. We want to make your vacation as relaxing as possible!

THE LOCATION
Ventnor is a small, historic town on the move. Old Victorian and traditional homes, with new, transitional townhouses line our streets. New businesses and restaurants are popping up all the time. Ventnor is located on Absecon Island, just south of Atlantic City, at the end of the Atlantic City Expressway, and reachable by train, plane, or bus from NYC and Philly. Ventnor is on the narrowest part of the island. On our end of town, it's only 4 blocks wide, giving you a short walk to the Beach AND Bay. Ventnor is known for its beautiful boardwalk that connects to the famous Boardwalk in Atlantic City and the longest ocean fishing pier in NJ.

Our neighborhood, North Beach, is known for its wide, quiet beaches, awesome restaurants, and new movie theater, The Salty V is only 2 blocks from the Jitney stop, which loops around. attractions and casinos. It's a short walk to the bike rental, ice cream, some great restaurants, and the WAWA. The bus stop to Margate is on the corner; it's easy to get to shopping, more restaurants, and Mini-Golf without moving your car. Parking is on-street and usually is not hard to get. Your neighbors, about half of full-time residents, and long-term summer folks are very friendly and helpful. We think we are located on the BEST street in town.

THE SPACE
The Salty V is a 3-Story Victorian, one story above street level so, full disclosure: there are a bunch of stairs. There are 5 unique Bedrooms rooms, 3 of them with Private Baths. There is a bath on the 3rd floor, shared by 2 bedrooms, and a Powder Room on the 1st. While built in 1902, it is not a fussy house. We have furnished it with things we love - a very eclectic collection that we think you will find very comfortable.

Some special features of the Salty V are the 3 outdoor gathering places: the huge Wrap-Around Porch, the side deck with Gas Grill and bistro table, The back Deck with dining table, 2 office areas, and an awesome 2-person Outdoor Shower. There is a toddler bed, a crib AND a Pack-n-iPlay. We are Pet-Friendly! (There is an extra $100 pet cleaning fee and some limitations. Pets need to be pre-approved)

All beds are comfy with either pillow- or gel-top mattresses. Flat Screen TVs in all Bedrooms are set up with streaming DirectTV plus Netflix, HULU, and Amazon Prime. Hi-speed Internet, of course, and Air Conditioning in every room.

The Salty V has a Fully Supplied Kitchen with Gas-Stove, Fridge with Icemaker, Dishwasher, Toaster, Blender, Coffee Grinder, Drip Coffee Maker AND a Kuerig, Pots and pans, baking dishes, utensils, and spices. We added a drink fridge in the Dining Room that comes in VERY handy with a crowd! The Dining Room offers a big table with leaves that can seat 14 - no more Kiddy Tables or folks having to sit separately in the kitchen! The Living Room has 2 couches plus more seating and a 65 4K TV.

The Master Bedroom on the 2nd floor is very bright and sunny. It has been newly redone with Marble Bath (shower only), a Queen Bed, plus a side room with a pull-out couch and desk. There is room to add the Pack-n-play here if you wish.

Also on the 2nd floor is the FAMILY ROOM, which has a Queen bed, and a side room with a crib and a toddler bed. It offers a private bath with a tub.

Very Private, the CAPTAINS QUARTERS, is on the 2nd floor but hidden in the backside of the house via the back stairs off the kitchen. This suite has a full-size bed and private Bath (shower only).

On the 3rd floor is THE BLUE ROOM which offers a comfy-cozy, peaceful atmosphere, and the only view of the fireworks in the house.

Sharing a bathroom (shower) on the 3rd floor with the Blue Room is THE LOUNGE, which features 2 Queen-sized Beds, a wet bar with stools, Walk-in Closet, flat-screen TV, and Electric Fireplace. There is room for the Pack-n-Play here too. Too many people for one bath on the 3rd floor? You can shower in the well-stocked outdoor shower (for 2) with hot and cold water. There is also a powder room downstairs for your use.

Start your day with an early morning stroll or bike ride on the Boardwalk, beachcombing. or enjoying coffee on the Porch.

Find your Zen on our WRAP-AROUND PORCH, great for lounging or rocking. In the evenings, the porch is a great place to socialize. Enjoy a beverage and a cigar-- you are welcome to smoke outside.

We have a Side Deck, too- a great place for two for coffee in the morning. This is where the gas grill is located -- just outside the French doors off the Dining Room. The Back Deck is set up with a table and chairs for up six with extra chairs. We also have a Retractable Awning to enjoy al fresco dining in the cool ocean breeze. At high tide, you can hear the ocean from this Deck. Guests also enjoy stargazing and playing games by twinkle lights here.

We tried to think of everything for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation- especially for the one in charge of packing. Unlike other beach rentals, every bed offers high-quality linens with 4 pillows, extra pillows, and blankets for those cool nights. There is a full-size laundry with soap and supplies.

We also provide 10 beach chairs, 15 beach towels and 4 beach blankets and mats, sunbrellas, and up to 12 beach tags(kids don't need them). Tons of stuff for the kids, including sand toys balls, a soccer net, and 5 boogie boards. We have indoor toys and books for the smaller ones, several family games, cards, and puzzles. There are also 2 adult bikes for cruising the boardwalk.

For the little ones- Besides the crib, we also have a Pack & Play and plenty of sheets. We offer a full-size highchair, 2 booster seats, a toddler-infant baby bath, towels, baby shampoo, a changing pad with washable covers pads, and baby towels. We have decent size blow-up pool you can put on the deck, and a small beach cabana for baby.

You'll have enough paper towels, TP, hand, dish, and dishwasher soaps, trash bags, kitchen spices, condiments, and coffee and creamer to get you started. Unlike other Summer rentals, we provide you with high-quality Bed and Bath Linens, pillows, extra blankets, and a full-sized laundry at no extra cost. If there is anything that we have missed, just give us a call. We are here for you.


The Salty V
The property has had many transitions and uses over the years. Family vacation home, renovated for a full-time residence, boarding house, bed & breakfast, and now summer rental. We are constantly working on this old beauty. Built in 1902, it's not perfect. Things break, and the floors are a little out of skew, but we love it and so do our guests

"The V" has hosted reunions, weddings, showers, athletes and their families for our many local competitions, bachelor parties (tho we are strict about no crazy parties and quiet time after 10 PM and business retreats.

WHY STAY WITH US?
We have been hosting vacation rentals for over 12 years and it has been a great experience. We are not a big company, just a married couple with a love for hosting and the gift of hospitality.
Pat's a Jersey Girl, whose family rented a house at the Shore for the extended family from birth until we permanently moved here in 2014. She knows what people want in a rental (she thinks) and we try to constantly improve on that. Cindy is a Canadian who moved to Los Angeles 37 years ago to pursue her dream in Hollywood. The Salty V at the Shore is so big, it seemed a waste not to share, so we are renting out the V and living downstairs in the Garden Apartment. You can interact with us as much or as little as you like.
We love hosting our guests and knowing our home is well taken care of. For some reason, we love living in tourist locations. Maybe it's because we love hosting friends and family as well as exploring the places around us. OK, we moved to the Jersey Shore for the beach and the food-- there, we said it. Oh- and we love to gamble. Yeah, that too. Nothing beats the Jersey Shore for the weather and the chill vibe-- even with the traffic. We love it there too.
Pat likes to cook and host and hold babies- a natural caretaker. She volunteers when she can-- for animals, people, and political causes-tho we won't say which ones :o)
Cindy loves everything about LA, especially the Dodgers. Cindy works t home as a TV/Film editor and loves watching TV and going to the movies, of course!
We are a team, but Pat is usually the one you will talk to when you contact us, and Cindy is the technical adviser (if you need to know how to work the remotes, tee-hee). We are both a phone call or text away for anything you might need.

We welcome our guests to enjoy and respect our spaces and hope you find them as comfortable as we do.
