This breezy and beautiful 4 bedroom, 3 and a half bath (plus outdoor shower!) cottage is directly on the water of Stone Harbor Basin, and sleeps 7 to 11 people, depending on how you choose to configure your stay. Its flexible spaces are perfect for a romantic getaway, a family vacation, sharing vacation with another young family, or a home base for the parents of the bride or groom for spring and fall weddings! The location is unbeatable: on the water on a quiet, protected basin, a half block from the Great Channel, less than three blocks from the downtown shopping and restaurant districts (and The Reeds & local churches), and just four blocks from the beach. The perfect combination of peaceful retreat within steps of all the action!

Open the front door to be greeted by high ceilings, white shiplap walls, blonde oak floors, cheerful coastal chic furnishings and a stunning view through a wall of glass directly out to the water. Upstairs, the master bedroom has a vaulted ceiling, California King bed, ensuite full bathroom with shower, and a balcony overlooking the water; the second bedroom on the 2nd floor has a luxurious queen bed that can be folded away to reveal a loveseat sofa, creating an office or video gaming/hangout room--there is a workspace and large television in this room. The third bedroom on the 2nd floor has a vaulted ceiling, queen bed, daybed, trundle bed and loft storage space above the queen bed (no guard rail, so this upper space is NOT safe for children). The third bedroom and the front deck provide a glimpse of the Great Channel, one block away. The upstairs hall bath is arranged to allow simultaneous use of tub/shower wet room, separate WC, and a double-fauceted sink--no crossed legs or bathroom arguments on family vacations! On the first floor is another flexible bedroom/sitting area/tv room space, featuring a twin daybed that has a pullout platform for an additional mattress to convert to two twins or, with mattress bridge, a king bed. Ensuite with this first floor bedroom is a full bath with shower, plus the stacking washer and dryer. After a day in the sun, this room with its navy blue grasscloth walls can be an especially restful quiet space. A tankless water heater ensures that every shower, indoors or out, will be a hot one! In both the 3rd and 4th bedroom, pulling out the trundle beds significantly reduces floor space -- when fully utilized, these rooms may be more fun for kids and teens than for adults.:-)

The "great room" style main living area features fully equipped modern white and gray kitchen with farmhouse sink, dishwasher, and all the usual appliances; a separate drinks refrigerator in the bar area, dining area with long cushioned dining bench alcove that can double as a second sofa, and a sitting area with chairs, large sofa, TV and fireplace -- all with a view of the Stone Harbor Basin. Step through the ceiling-height sliders to four "outdoor rooms" on the water -- upper level dining with an umbrella table that expands to seat up to 12; lower level sectional seating/sunning space with fireplace table for evenings, a pier with umbrella pub table and 4 stools for fishing, dining, cocktailing and observing the whole basin, and a floating dock for swimming, boating and water toy access. (The boat slip is available with advance notice and, if applicable, a small additional fee of up to $250 to cover our actual costs of relocating our own boat, if any.) The deepwater of Stone Harbor Basin means that swimming off the dock is easy at any time of day, without needing to wait for high tide. An integrated Sonos sound system allows you to play music indoors and out.

This incredibly space-efficient 1650 sf home provides a wealth of venues for family togetherness or for quiet time alone or in small groups! The front porch features a double hanging chair swing ideal for napping, snuggling with your kids, or reading (or all three), as well as a stationary bench. Above the porch is the upper deck with deep-seating for 4 to 6 people, shade in the mornings and sunset skies in the evening. The master has its own private balcony retreat, while the waterfront space below has four distinct use areas. The 2nd and/or 4th bedrooms can also be used as work or sitting room space. Televisions are equipped with basic cable and a variety of streaming service tools including Apple TV, Google Chrome and Roku. Tenants are permitted to use our subscriptions (but without making purchases) or to connect to their accounts.

Rental includes use of our beach chairs, umbrellas, games, float noodles and various inflatable floats (which vary from time to time, given the many vulnerabilities of inflatables!) No water craft/toys are available with the property, but we're less than three blocks from Island Water Sports and its waterpark, board and kayak rentals and jetskiing, water skiing, tubing and wake boarding excursions. Fishing boats can be rented at Smugglers Cove or Dad's Place, and multiple other local operations provide deep sea and back bay fishing excursions as well as kayak, canoe and skiff rentals.

As is typical with traditional Jersey Shore vacation home rentals, towels and linens are not included in the rental. But if it's not convenient for you to bring your own linens there are many ways to get you linens that meet your needs and aesthetic, quality and comfort requirements-- whether through a linen service, access to our personal supplies, or some combination of both. Please don't hesitate to let us know what you need, and we'll be glad to hep you get it!

In season, rentals are usually arranged through our realtor who also can be a local contact point to quickly address any issues if I'm not available. The property may also be available for use as a photo or film location, engagement photo location, a small event location, or a honeymoon or "mother of the bride" house for your Shore wedding. Event or photo/film use is NOT included or permitted in residential rentals and MUST be arranged and insured separately. For wedding weekends please be sure to let us know what we can do to help make your stay spectacular--we can often make the house available for dates that are not normally listed, and we're happy to work with your wedding coordinator, photographer or other professionals to make your Shore wedding dreams come true!

For out-of-area travelers, we are 35 miles from Atlantic City International Airport, and about 80 miles from Philadelphia International Airport. Private and small craft aviation access is only minutes away at the Cape May Airport.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS PROPERTY IS DIRECTLY ON AND OPEN TO THE WATER: THERE ARE NO SAFETY GATES, AND THE HORIZONTAL CABLE RAIL FENCING IS DESIGNED ONLY TO PREVENT PEOPLE FROM INADVERTENTLY STEPPING OFF THE BULKHEAD, NOT TO CONTAIN SMALL CHILDREN OR SMALL ANIMALS. We love children of all ages, but please do be aware that all children, especially toddlers, would require very close, hands-on adult supervision at ALL times on this or any waterfront property. We encourage renters to ask questions and to make their own physical inspection of the property to determine whether it is appropriate for your group prior to booking.
