POINT PLEASANT VACATION RENTALS

Are you a seafood fiend? Then Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey may be the perfect destination for your New Jersey shore vacation. Established more than 123 years ago as borough of Ocean County, Point Pleasant Beach has evolved into a seafood gastronomer’s delight.

That’s not all, either: The local boardwalk offers fun games and rides for the kids. The town’s beautiful beaches are ideal for sand castle building, sunbathing, and people-watching. Antique shops dot the boardwalk. Free weekly events entertain visitors throughout the summer months.

For public swimming on the south side, head to the beach near Dune’s Motel and Bay Head Point. Lifeguards are on duty from nine to five. Bring change: you have to pay a fee to park along the beach.  For something more secluded, try Bradshaw Beach. It’s located a bit to the north and offers beachside alcohol service.  For great surfing action, truck out to Manasquan or cruise the inlet known as “The Pocket.”  Observe all lifeguard caution signs. A green sign means you can swim without a problem. A yellow sign indicates strong tidal currents or big waves. A red sign means don’t go out.

Point Pleasant Beach hosts an annual seafood festival that attracts foodies from far and wide. Some year-round eateries to check out include Shore Fresh Seafood Market, Point Lobster, Jersey Mike’s Subs, Jimmy C's, Pizza Café, and Surf Taco. For dessert, enjoy Rita’s Ice Custard, Kohr Brother’s Frozen Custard and Herald’s Ices.  During selected days in the summer and fall, there’s a Classic Car Cruise downtown between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. Other popular events include fireworks after dark in July and August, a concert series by the sea, and special events at nearby Jenkinson's Aquarium.
